With halloween just around the corner, why not get your party place ready for a halloween bash? There are some fantastic scary decorations around, and the not so scary for the feinthearted! I just love this one Rubber Severed Head of Old Man, just think it is great! If this is just too gory, why not go for a scene setter well decoration like the Spider Swarm Scene Setter which is proably better for the younger ones! The are many decorations along this vein and they are a cheap solution to any party nightmare (no pun intended)! They are huge decorations so cover a large expanse of wall and the detail is great. Cut off heads might not appeal to everyone but hung up in a corner or left lying around they can look so realistic! No CSI here so can’t tell you excactly how they died! There are masses of decorations around with pumpkins which are also very seasonal and ideal for very young children. Take a look at the Pumpkin Pull Pinata, no bashing involved! Lots of fun to be had with this, just fill with sweets, treats, stickers or toys and let the kids go! Get organnised now to pick up the best bargains going!
Who will you be on 31st October?
September 7, 2008This year, 31st October falls on a Friday so be prepared for one massive party fest all weekend! Get your costumes and accessories sorted now for one of the biggest events of the year. It doesn’t have to be expensive either. If you don’t fancy a latex mask, why not a witches hat? We stock a fabulous fabric witches hat with long curly hair. All you need is a black dress or cape and hey presto you have your outfit for very little outlay and even more it can be worn again and again. Black capes are a fabulous idea as they fit the majority of people, are comfortable as well as practical. Add a bit of glamour with a Sexy purple witch cape as well. Evenings will become a little more colder and you can even cover up some of those lumps and bumpts we are not too proud of. Try investing in a pair of long black PVC/patent gloves to give your costume a bit more zap. All these items are well priced and create a marvellous costume. Yes, it would be great to invest in the ultimate witches outfit but you may have more important things to spend your money on especially with Christmas not many weeks away.
Children too shouldn’t be ignored. Halloween is becoming a huge event for them and from a simple pair of neon halloween skeleton gloves and a childs lace witches hat with tinsel hair can lead to bigger and better items, but that is for another day and more dollars!
Halloween Masks
August 26, 2008Yes folks, 31st October will be upon us very shortly, ghosts, spooks and devils will be out in force for Halloween. Over in the UK Halloween is becoming more and more popular every year. In the US, folks now how to celebrate in style but here in the UK we are still getting the feel for it. Although I don’t necessarily agree with children going from door to door, I think Halloween parties themselves are a grand idea to celebrate in the season which gets a bit lost between summer and christmas. We now have in stock some fabulous halloween masks, with my favourite being the Evil Clown Latex Face Mask. It is a cheap and easy way to get into the swing of a fancy dress party and everyone loves a scary clown! Also on offer we have the Red Devil Latex Face Mask complete with horns! Although Halloween is supposed to be a horror fest, many people still like to do “normal” dressing up, so we therefore have a range of masks for those people as well. Take our Red Harem Face Mask for instance. Harem style coins hang under the chin for another inexpensive way to do dressing up! For those who still appreciate the fun side of halloween we also have massive stocks of Smiling Pumpkins Halloween Paper Plates to get everyone in the mood! And if that is not good enough, try our Pumpkin Pinata which is the pull variety so no bashing kids around!
1st Birthday continued
August 16, 2008Continuing on from the other 1st birthday post, I am trying to say that this is the most important birthday of any parent regards their children, be it first, second or even fifth child! The photographs are there to prove it. Dirty old suitcases full of photographs of babies first birthday. The second, third, fourth birthday parties all fade away, it is the all imporant 1st birthday that they remember most. To make it very special, it is vital to have the correct decorations and party supplies. 1st birthday pink balloons for a baby girl are a real must, with 1st birthday pink baby girl cups an extra add on. I am not being sexist, but have chosen the girl as an option. I could have chosen the boy, and mentioned the 1st birthday blue balloons and the 1st birthday boy cutout party decorations, but I didn’t! Just remember, your babies first birthday is very important and should not be overlooked. Don’t forget to put an advert in your local paper, so you can cut out and keep for prosperity! When your “baby” turns 18, put another advert in with the same photo.
Pirate Party
August 11, 2008It’s party time and how far would you go to decorate your party space for a Pirate Party? Some people go OTT at Christmas, and having a themed party is just another excuse to go overboard! Not satisfied with producing Pirate Treasure Paper Plates, youngsters nowadays will demand that parents set up a real pirate scene. Help is on hand. You can now get pirate scene setters. My favourite is the Pirate Hideaway Scene Setter with a pirate coming out of the sand. These scene setters have fabulous detailling and colours, once on the wall you feel you are on a desert island. Pirate Party Skull Whirls are another all time favourite. If creating a scene is a little too much, then there are some great little accessories suitable for young pirates of any age. Another of my favourites is the Pirate Expandable Plastic Telescope. Okay it doesn’t really go telescopic, but looks great when held by young pirates chasing after gold! There is so much choice, that making a decision will be the most difficult job!
First Birthday Party
August 10, 2008Every new Mum and Dad knows that their childs 1st birthday is the most signifcant landmark. The first birthday will lead on to many, many more, but it is probably the most memorable - so let’s help make it that way! There are many products designed for baby’s first birthday, including first birthday napkins for girls and first birthday napkins for boys. If you are not a pink or blue person, then most party tableware is availabe in yellow, including first birthday plates. There are numerous first birthday hanging decorations to make that party room unforgettable! You must be careful about some items, as they contain small pieces … we won’t preach here though! Parties need not be expensive but they can be colourful and memorable. Obviously party supplies designed to a specific theme can be expensive, but if you stick to colours from that theme, then many items will be less expensive. You don’t need to go overboard with hats, party bags etc, but of course, you may wish to!
Party Tableware
June 20, 2008When we throw a party, we need to make sure everything is right. It could cost a fortune or it could be well within your budget. If you had the time and money, you would have the perfect party table including an array of fine crystal glasses and china plates, silver cutlery and lots of lovely smelling flowers everywhere! But for many of us life is not like that. There are good and bad points about having real china and glass at a celebration. Glass can be broken and imagine trying to get up all the shards of glass with people milling about! There are many alternatives. There are the plastic glasses which you can use again and again - not dishwasher proof though! So why not give the single use disposable glasses a go. We stock Plastic Champagne Flutes which are so practical but do not break the bank. These are one piece glasses, but you can also get the 2 piece - the main glass is one complete piece, then add the stand. Also, one major advantage is that you don’t have to wash them up afterwards. Also, if they break they won’t cause mass mayhem! If you look abit further, you will find that disposable glasses now come in different colours like pink and gold. So you could make a big impression with your party, without having to have a big budget!
Fancy Dress Masks
June 18, 2008With students celebrating end of exams, mums and dads celebrating the fact that they will have the children home shortly for 6 weeks or more, there is no better time to have a fancy dress party! You don’t have to spend loads of money to impress people, get your guests to dress up with just one item of fancy dress to get into the spirit of the season! There is no better way than wearing a face mask. No clothes to fuss around with, no fancy shoes to kill your feet, just a simple mask which will sit on your face and look great! We have some great new masks in stock. The Glitter Face Mask with hair is a very good example of just how easy it is to create a look. With the glitter detail and hair, you could not go wrong. You may also wish to don a hat. Our Tall Multi Coloured Foam Hats are always very popular with any age group. Another simple solution to a fancy dress nightmare! Why go spending hundreds of pounds to look like someone out of Little Britain and feel uncomfortable all day/night. Don a mask or a wig and feel the part straight away!
Cake Decorations
June 17, 2008Further to an earlier blog, there are many more kinds of wedding cake decorations for the more traditionalists amongst us. They can range from small figurines with bride and groom holding hands, to the Bride and Groom with lace parasol cake decoration. Another firm favourite for the younger generation is the Dangly Leg Bride & Groom, which is inexpensive but very well made. Having had a look through some bridal magazines lately, I am amazed at how unique some of these decorations can be. Pillars and bridges - anyone would think you were taking a walk in the park! You can really have a fairytale wedding cake with some of the ideas out there. Never mind Posh & Becks, you could be just like them with a 5 tiered cake and the happy bride and groom standing under a lighted archway, waiting for the horse and cart to come along - and yes the horse and cart can still be on the wedding cake! Think how many children you would need to get through all that wedding cake - saving the layers for christenings that is! Never mind, the whole point is that it should taste good as well. Fancy all this glamour and no-one could eat it!
Charity Events
June 17, 2008There are always numerous charity events going on in every town or city in the UK. Ranging from fun runs to jumble sales. Fun runs are a good way to have fun, loose weight and make money for your favourite charity. But what do you wear for these fun runs? Obviously you should wear running gear, although many wear fancy dress outfits. If you want to feel comfortable about yourself and make it as enjoyable as possible, you will most probably wear running gear. But to bring the fun element into it, why not choose a bright coloured wig to wear? Mrs Mop the Cleaner wig is always a great favourite with the males! Not sure why though! For the ladies there is a huge choice, but my favourite would the Green Beehive Fancy Dress Wig. Imagine running for 10 miles or so with that great green thing on your head! You could always forget the wig idea and go for a hat instead! The Tall Multi Coloured Foam Hat will stand out in the crowd. You could even dress in drag (one for the boys that is!). In the London Marathon, you see bananas running next to prisoners. If you want to dress up completely, my advice would be to keep it simple or you could be tripping over yourself or sweating your pants off! Next time you go to a jumble sale, try searching for something to wear at your next Charity Event. Many people find weird hats, scarfs, dresses and the like. They won’t be expensive and if you have the nerve, what fun!!
